TCF Foundation - Colorado

TCF Foundation Overview
TCF Foundation, the philanthropic arm of TCF National Bank, extends charitable contributions to tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations in education, human services, community development and the arts.

The Foundation allocates grants to local and regional organizations engaged in nonprofit activities that are designed to improve the economic and social well being of the community.

Guidelines:
TCF accepts applications for financial support from the following:

  • TCF contributes to organizations that have a verifiable 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Government agencies and public schools are not required to provide evidence of status.
  • TCF gives special consideration to nonprofit organizations and programs in which TCF employees play an active volunteer role and that meet other established criteria.
  • TCF contributes only to organizations located in areas where TCF has a bank office.
  • TCF contributes only to associations and organizations. TCF does not directly contribute to individuals.

TCF does not accept applications for financial support from the following:

  • TCF does not contribute to political parties, political candidates, social organizations, religious institutions or sponsor social events of those qualified organizations.
  • TCF does not contribute to individual churches. However, the Foundation may support religious organizations that provide humanitarian services on a nonsectarian basis.
  • TCF does not purchase advertising or subsidize publications, such as brochures, books or newsletters of nonprofit organizations.
  • TCF does not contribute to organizations that exist to influence legislation on local, state or federal levels.
  • TCF does not regularly commit to grants for more than one year. A grant is not an indication that support will be continued on a regular basis.

Submitting a Request
All grant requests must be submitted using the Colorado Common Grant Application form. A cover letter addressing TCF employee involvement should accompany your application. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a quarterly basis.

TCF offers an Employee Matching Gifts Program to supplement donations made by employees to charitable organizations of their choice.

TCF matches contributions to most 501(c)(3) organizations, including schools, colleges, and educational radio and television stations.

TCF will match any gift of $25 or more on a dollar-for-dollar basis. Employees should refer to the Employee Matching Gift Form for eligibility information and program guidelines.
